Much better fit now. PM for details. My neighbor is 6'5". He fits in my Z3 in either seat. Tires are Evil. They MUST be destroyed. I dont know how you guys that weigh are doin it but hats off. I could use some more space though. JazzM is 6' 7" he had to get some Sparco's but now fits perfect in a roady I'm 6'2" and with the seat tilt mod, I fit like a glove.
I like to sit up a little straighter than most people though. No driving here. I can fit, but would like another couples inches. I actually set the seat a bit forward from it's 'furthest back' position, so that I can tilt the seat back more.

I'm 5'11" but, with the soft top up and the seat all the way down, it would be a couple more inches before my head touches the canvas. Originally Posted by JBgotM. Got to do that seat tilt mod as my butt is toast after a couple of hours! Join Date May Location Home. Posts 1, My Cars 07 bimmer.
I guess it all depends on your willingness to fit in the car. I think you'll struggle in several areas. Not enough leg room. I've tried to stretch my left leg beyond the rest and got cramp! Headroom with roof down is OK, but again at your height I think you'll find it cramped. My mother in law reckons I look like Noddy when the roofs down, that the cars too small for me I'm big, The old Barnet does take some stick when the roofs down. Sorry I can't be more encouraging.
All I would say is I'm told that most other cars, an older Audi TT for example, would also be too small. I find the pedals ok and I take size 12 shoes. I have toyed with the idea of one of those aftermarket racing seats without all the motors underneath, that would certainly give you more room. So, it looks like I may have to rule out the Z3, not the first two seater I don't fit in I did initially start looking at Z4s but then was drawn by the option of saving a bit and getting a Z3 instead.
I also see it as a bit of a classic and I love the looks, plus its a bit "old BMW" in a nice way. PS: Maurice, nice Z4, my preferred colour too! Southernboy's seat tilt kits may help, as they put your body back a little and so give both extra legroom and headroom - note that I do NOT have them fitted to my car.
With the roof down, only my hair catches the breeze - this is becoming less of a problem as I get older If you want comedy, drive a frog - I have to fold myself up to get in, and my eyes are about level with the top of the windscreen frame.
